About Amelia

Amelia Green, a 3rd generation horsewoman and British native, has always known she has wanted to have a career with horses. Her grandfather trained national hunt horses in England and at 8 years old, Amelia began showjumping ponies all around the UK. At 16, she graduated from the British Racing School and went on to be an exercise rider and apprentice jockey for Sir Henry Cecil. Throughout her 4 years with Henry, she rode seven races for him and closely witnessed the development of champions such as Frankel, Midday, Timepiece, and Noble Mission, just to name a few. Amelia moved to America in 2013 where she began working for George Papaprodromou in California as an apprentice jockey. After four years of riding races in California followed by a brief stint in Maryland, Amelia became George’s assistant trainer in 2016. The following year she moved to the east coast to work for Hall of Fame trainer Todd Pletcher where she became one of his assistant trainers while also continuing her role as an exercise rider. For the next 7 years, Amelia rode and travelled with the world with many of Todd’s top horses such as Life Is Good, Malathaat, Audible, and Mind Control.

Amelia established her training stable in 2024 and is based out of Belmont Park.
